Most mornings we are greeted by the warbling song of the Magpies and the cackling laugh of kookaburras,
upon entering the kitchen the Rainbow Lorikeets demand there breakfast by whistling at us through the screen doors as the
Scrub Turkey pace back and forth a few feet further out while we brew our coffee.
Two of the Lorikeets are permanent residents with up to 20
others as occasional visitors, the resident pair sit on our hands while they have breakfast all the while whistling and murmuring
softly to each other as they eat.
As you work around the property you are constantly surrounded
by native wildlife many of which I am at a loss to identify so the following list is far from complete and some of the names
may be the common names or incorrect as I am not an expert.
Rainbow Lorikeets, kookaburras,
Noisy Miners, two verities of Chuffs, Magpies, Butcher birds, Quail, Topknot Pigeons, Scrub Turkeys, pheasants, Black cockatoos,
King Parrots, many types of Finches, Turtle Doves, Pee Wees, Leather Heads, Banana Birds, Wallabies, Kangaroos, Bandicoots,
Koalas, Bearded Dragon lizards and a variety of other small reptiles.
